Filing GSTR-1 as a Myntra seller

6 min readUpdated 15 September 2026

The three Myntra reports a month needs, why they overlap, returns from last month, and what Myntra does not send: an HSN code and an invoice number.

Three reports for one month

In the Myntra Partner Portal, under Financial Reports, Monthly Reports and the OTHERS tab, there are three GSTR reports for a month: Packed, RT (customer returns) and RTO (orders that came back undelivered). Each downloads as a CSV with a name like part-00012-tid-5050659549..., which says nothing about which one it is. Tell them apart by their columns, never by the name.

Packed is every item dispatched in the month. Without RT, every return is filed as though the customer kept the goods; without RTO, the month is overstated by everything that never reached a customer.

The files overlap

On a real November, Packed held 26 rows, RT 5 and RTO 8, but only 29 items existed. Added up as three separate files, most of the month is counted twice. Each item has to be counted once, as the sale it was and the return or reversal that followed.

What came back this month was often packed last month

An item packed on the 28th of last month and returned on the 3rd of this one was invoiced in last month’s return. This month owes only the reversal, as a credit note against that invoice. Treating it as a sale and a return in the same month nets it to nothing and leaves last month’s sale standing for ever. On eight real months that was the whole difference to the portal, one item at a time.

The same holds for a cancellation after packing: an item packed in December and cancelled on 3 January was invoiced in December, and in January it is a credit note, which is how Myntra’s own GSTR-8 nets it. An RTO is two documents, the dispatch and its reversal; filing only the reversal pushes the month below zero.

There is no HSN code in any of them

Myntra sends an article type, such as Earrings or Bracelet, and no code. Table 12 needs one, and which heading a product falls under is the seller’s decision and the seller’s notice if it is wrong. State the code once per article type and reuse it; a tool that invents one has made a classification on your behalf.

The free HSN checker says whether a code can exist and how many digits your turnover requires.

There are no invoice numbers either

Table 13 counts documents issued, and these files do not number them. The packet id is a reference you can search in the Myntra panel, and a return built from these files should say plainly that its document summary is incomplete rather than invent a series.

The invoices Myntra sends you are not sales

The invoice zip beside the reports holds PDFs with COMMISSION and LOGISTICS in their names. Those are bills Myntra raised on you. They have nothing to do with GSTR-1: the GST on them is input tax credit, claimed in GSTR-3B if it is in your GSTR-2B.

Checking against what Myntra reported

Myntra files a GSTR-8 each month, and what it declared against your GSTIN shows in the portal’s TDS and TCS credit received statement. Hold its net value against your own figure. On eight real months, October 2025 to May 2026, the files and the statement agreed once last month’s returns were placed as credit notes in the month they came back.

Try it on your own figures with the free GSTR-1 from marketplace reports.
